Today, employers are routinely having to expend precious talent acquisition resources on vetting candidates for work history and references, this extra effort adds delays in their ability to find good candidates to interview and it also negatively impacts from being matched faster and more accurately for a job opportunity. The Service solves this problem by providing a proven identity verification technology that we call the “Trusted Discovery Network.”
The primary way we collect personal information is through the Parable application you download to your phone or the Parable user login that you registered for and accessed from the World Wide Web. The personal information collected from your phone or the Passport you created on the web site is your contact information and the personal information of your contacts in your address book. This personal information is accessed only to 1) verify the authenticity of you as a User of the Service and 2) vet you as a qualified Candidate to be matched for job opportunities, and 3) to assist you in increasing your authenticity by inviting your friends to verify your trusted discovery network, and 4) assist you in knowing exactly who is reviewing your personal information for the purposes it was intended, namely to be matched for a job opportunity.
Once the application is installed on your phone, the Service will ask you for permission to access your contacts in your phone’s address book. The purpose of the access is to determine if you are a real person by determining if your social network is real and not an elaborate product of the many social fraud schemes now on the Internet. We are identity verification domain experts and we develop and employ proprietary computer algorithms for the purposes of expertly assessing and verifying your authenticity by assessing the authenticity of the people in your social network. We do this without contacting your friends and colleagues. The Service provides you with the ability to improve your authenticity by inviting your trusted friends and co-workers to join your trusted discovery network. Each trusted friend once authenticated has the potential to increase your authentic result and move your passport closer to a matched job opportunity.
Additionally, you may use the website and provide additional personal information through the website features. The personal information collected from you while on the website may be the same information from your phone as well as name, email address, mobile phone type and mobile phone number. We also collect personal information about you from a variety of other public and private sources to provide the Service. Altogether the Service may collect, process and store the following types of information: contact information such as your personal and business information (like your photo, name, address, email, phone), the contact information of your friends, family and professionals, demographic information, work history, professional aptitude assessment information, professional work styles, motivators, values and trait information, and information based on your interaction with our Service such as log, use, traffic and technology data (like the type of internet browser or cell phone you use). Other than the range of salary you desire for a job match, we do not collect your financial information through the Service.
We do not collect age, race, or ethnicity information. Our services are not offered to customers under 13 years of age. If you are not 13 years old you are not authorized to use our Services at this time.
The personal information is stored on our servers located in the United States. Therefore, if you choose to use the Service, you consent to the collection, transfer and storage of your personal information and the personal information of your contacts to the United States.

Our business is not based on selling personal information for marketing purposes. In fact, we don’t sell, or rent, or trade, or barter, or lend personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may use and share the information in an aggregate and non-identifiable way for marketing and behavioral advertising, however we will not disclose your personal information to third parties without your explicit consent. We may combine personal information from other sources and use it to improve or personalize the Service. If you don’t wish to receive marketing communications from us or participate in our job matching and talent management customization programs, please indicate in your profile or by following the directions provided within the communication.
Jake Knows uses personal information to provide our Services.
This means we use your information along with the personal information of our other customers to provide the various features of our Service. Based on your preferences, the preferences of other customers, our authenticity algorithms, and whether the information is public or private information, the Service will append your profile in the Service with additional or missing pieces of personal information about your contacts for your use, and update your contact profile in your friends or colleagues application that we provide and that also are authenticated by the Service. You agree that we may use the personal information you provide us to provide the Service and:
We also use the information in aggregate and non-identifiable ways with third parties, for other services such as fraud detection and prevention, information verification, and identity management, however we will not disclose your identifiable personal information to any of these third parties.
The Service allows you to invite people to join. If you invite people to join, we may share your email address with those people and we’ll only use the email addresses you provide to send the invitations. You may only invite people whom you know personally that would like the Service. You may not send spam via the Service. The Service allows you to determine what personal information to share within the network based on our default settings or your classification of contacts as friends or colleagues. You select your sharing preferences.
The Service will share the fact that you have contact information in your address book, with the person who’s information you have. This is called the “trusted discovery network” feature and allows people to know who has their personal information. The Service also shares personal information that is publicly available in order to complete the contacts in an address book.
It is not our intent to share personal information outside of the scope of providing the Service unless we are required to by law. We will share it with third parties that help us provide the Services as discussed above (and solely for those purposes) and we will share it with a new entity if we plan to or merge with or are acquired by that business entity. We will not otherwise disclose personal information without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we believe in good faith that the disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm, financial loss or to report suspected illegal activity.
We may use "cookies" (small files placed on your Internet device) on certain of our website pages to help analyze our web page flow; customize our services, content and advertising; measure promotional effectiveness, and promote trust and safety. Some features of the website and Service may not work properly if you do not accept the cookies. You are always free to accept or reject cookies based on your Internet browser settings. We do not store personal information in cookies.
The backbone of the Service is based on personal information. As such, we view the protection of that personal information as paramount. Therefore we use physical, technical and systemic security systems to protect personal information. While we work hard to protect personal information, there are third parties working just as hard to compromise security. We cannot promise that personal information will always remain private. When we become aware that your personal information is accessed in an unauthorized manner as defined by law, we will directly notify you in accordance with our legal requirements and inform you of the appropriate steps to take to protect your identity.
Accessing, Reviewing and Changing Information
You can see, modify or erase your personal information by reviewing your “passport” on your phone or on the Service at www.parablesciences.com. Contact us to review any personal information we store that is not available to you from our Service. There may be a charge associated with such requests but these will not exceed the amounts permitted by law and are generally based on the cost it takes to complete the request. We will respond to your request within 30 days, sooner if we can. In some cases it may take longer to prepare a full access report, but we’ll work hard to let you know as soon as possible if that is the case. We delete personal information when we no longer need it for the purposes we described earlier.
You can request that we stop matching you for all job opportunities and delete your personal information from out matching engines. We will deactivate your account and stop matching you for all job opportunities from any organization and hiring managers. It is important to understand that your personal information may still reside in our systems as a result of other customers placing that information in our system through resume on-boarding services and/or if the information is otherwise public information.
The best way to manage how your personal information is disclosed instead of requesting deletion is to set your matching and sharing preferences to the strictest setting. Your information will not be shared with other customers and you will be able to continue to use the “trusted discovery network” to know what contacts have your information in their phone and who is more authentic than others. We retain personal information as permitted by law to resolve disputes, enforce our policies, and prevent harm.
